The metals series shown here are mixed media on steel. The bare metal was exposed to weather for several months before being manipulated. A combination of stains, acids, inks, heat, and welding tools were used to create the final image.

I am a 78-year-old retired man. I began my artist quest when I was thirteen years old by sending in my artist’s test from a “Draw Me” magazine advertisement. Of course, I didn’t win and my parents paid for the course. I continued to pursue art off and on through the years. A marriage at nineteen to a girl I met in college interrupted my degree pursuit. At 46-years-old I had the opportunity to return to college where I received a degree in Art Education. Teaching in public school and I was a very poor match. With the art training and the production of a tremendous amount of work, I opened an art gallery while maintaining a full-time job in IT.
