About Doug Simpson
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I graduated college with a degree in Art Education with the intent to teach in public school. This idea was quickly scrapped after a semester of student teaching eighth grad students. Years later I opened an art gallery, framing center, and specialized art supply store. It was here I was able to spend many hours developing skills and multiple media and teaching those who truly desired to learn about the power of creativity.
Fine art covers a very wide gamut of mediums, subject matters, and styles as well as presentation. I am now retired and many of my favorite works have been sold over the years.
The metal series shown here is one of my all time favorites for both its final product and the complicated methods used to create it.
Although I have worked in many different mediums and various combinations of mediums I now spend my art time developing my skills in digital painting. Some of those are here or will be here after their many edits allow me to arrive at a satisfactory final state.
My life and all of its detours are not included here as I cannot imagine that it is of interest to but a handful of people. Art is a true act of unique creativity available to most any human on the planet. There are as many opinions about it as there are people to express one. It is my privilege to have the opportunity to be creative and present some of that work for any who may enjoy it.
